Thank you for visiting our consultation website for the future of Hawke Ridge, located just north of Westbury.

Bellway Homes and Hawke Ridge Business Park Ltd are preparing a planning application that reimagines this long-allocated but undeveloped employment site as a new high-quality mixed use development.

Although the land has been marketed for employment use for more than 14 years, no suitable commercial occupiers have come forward. With the previous application for an Amazon distribution centre withdrawn in 2023, we now have an opportunity to rethink the site’s future in a way that better reflects local housing needs.

We are inviting you to share your views as we shape the proposals ahead of submitting a planning application to Wiltshire Council.

What we’re doing

Hawke Ridge promises to be a thoughtfully designed new neighbourhood, offering much-needed affordable homes and a modern care home, with strong connections to Westbury, the everyday convenience of new local shops, and generous green spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Our emerging proposals aim to:

07 Density Currently Sits At 51 Dwellings Per Hectare

Provide up to 250 much-needed new homes, including 40% affordable housing, designed to the Future Homes Standard

Deliver a 64-bed care home, helping meet local demand for specialist care and respite accommodation.

16 Seeking To Maximise Vehicle Parking Spaces On The Site

Introduce new commercial spaces, including a convenience store, roadside drive through unit and 3 flexible retail units, supporting new and existing residents and adjacent businesses.

13 Publicly Accessible Green Community Spaces

Create social and economic benefits, including construction jobs, local investment and new spending in the area.

08 Retain Most Existing Mature Trees Notably Those Around Grace House

Deliver comprehensive new landscaping and enhanced biodiversity, including new tree planting, sensitive screening around the Grade II listed Hawkeridge Farmhouse, and accessible green spaces.

12 New Pedestrian Routes Introduced Through The Site To Provide Permeability And Public Access

Improve sustainable travel, with connections to the proposed Glenmore Farm active-travel route, offering safer walking and cycling routes to Westbury and the wider area.
